Unlucky Relationship:
Todd and Lila had been in love since they were in a New Mexico high school. Their relationship was as pure as anything out there and one with a strong bond of love. They had planned to get married right after their graduation. They both had so much trust in each other that they couldn’t even think of leaving each other.
One day Todd came to Lila and said that they can’t get married and he doesn’t want to continue this relationship, leaving Lila with a broken heart and tearful eyes full of questions, Todd left her, Lila tried her best to contact him but, he even left the university and then the city.
Thinking that Todd had just played with her feelings and he was just a selfish person, she carried on with her life with a pain in her heart. After her graduation she got married to the son of one of her father’s friend. She was happy with her new family but still she couldn’t forget the past and wanted answers to the questions she had for so many years. She always hated him for whatever he did but deep in heart she just couldn’t erase that strong feeling of love she had for him.
The Real Truth about Todd and Mesothelioma:
On the other hand, Todd knew that he had to do it and why he did what he did. Todd had developed asthma and used to take his regular medicines but he could never predict where this asthma can take him. Days passed and he realised that he was having breathing problems and his voice had become husky. Hard to guess what was going on, he carried on with life as he started having pain on all over his body.
When he went to see the doctor, he couldn’t believe his ears when he heard that doctors had diagnosed him with a cancer ‘Mesothelioma’, an asbestos related cancer. Asbestos is essentially an industrial term derived from mining and manufacturing material of asbestiform habit. Keeping in view his medical and professional history, doctors presumed that he might have caught the asbestos particles from his father who had died 25 years ago.
Doctors also explained that his father’s death might have been caused due to the asbestos particles that he might have acquired and inhaled while working in the Power stations. He was further told that the asbestos particles usually get into action twenty to fifty years after they enter a person’s system.
Thus, Todd was asked for further test so that the visualisation of the results helps towards the steps to be taken in the treatment. CT-PET Scan was ordered and Todd, fearing the results, went through that reluctantly.
A Great compromise in love: Mesothelioma
Much to his fear, his cancer was diagnosed at a very high stage and he was given this news that he won’t be able to live for long. Knowing that he won’t be able to keep Lila happy, he thought of leaving her and letting her hate him for the rest of her life. And thus, he walked out of her life. Without giving any answers. Without telling her the truth. He walked away heavy-hearted but knowing fully well that he was doing it for someone else, as he had only a short period to live.

Lila found her answer: Mesothelioma Cancer Death
Lila, one day, finally decided to visit Todd’s house. He was sick and tired of living her life in oblivion and needed answers from Todd. The day when Lila went to the Todd’s house, she could see a pale expression on his mom’s face as she entered the house. Todd’s mom didn’t utter a single word and just took her to his room.
She was shocked to see that Todd’s room was full of her pictures, some hanging on the wall and some decorated in a frame on a table stand. Unable to see Todd anywhere, she guessed what had happened to him. She finally got her answer for the question which she always wanted to ask Todd but, she could never get the answer for that question which she always wanted to ask her fate. |
